Recycling plays a vital role in all our lives. This is particularly true at Homewood Disposal and our sister company, Diversified Recycling. We began recycling in the 1980’s, primarily recycling cardboard from commercial businesses. In 1990, our first residential recycling effort began with the Village of Homewood. Today we collect and process recycling from over 30 communities each year. We continue to look for new markets to expand the types of material we can collect for recycling. View our current list of accepted recycling material. Single Stream Recycling Our state of the art sorting and processing facility allows us to accept newspapers, junk mail, magazines, cardboard, glass bottles and jars, plastic bottles, tin and aluminum cans mixed together. Once the material arrives at the processing center it is sorted by type and prepared for the market. The markets vary by material and are located throughout North America and abroad. Residential Recycling Many of our communities offer a curbside recycling program. Please choose your town from our residential page to see if recycling carts or bins are available in your area. If you currently recycle you can view your recycling schedule.
Businesses may also benefit from our recycling services. Click here to find out about our new WeSort recycling program. Individual programs can be set up based on the needs of your business. Homewood Disposal is LEED project experienced. We have worked with numerous contractors in order to meet their LEED project specifications. We can provide the proper documentation to track recycled volume per job site. |
